A massive egg recall has been issued in the states of Colorado, California and Minnesota, due to the eggs being contaminated with salmonella. Salmonella symptoms are fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramping, according to WebMD. The symptoms will develop approximately 12 – 72 hours after you eat the contaminated eggs. Most people recover on their own without any help from a doctor, however you are still advised to seek medical help anyway, if nothing else so the outbreak can be documented properly. You can get severely dehydrated when you run a fever and have diarrhea, so watch out for that and get to a hospital if your fever gets too high or you start to feel like you’re going to pass out. Most people recover within four to seven days, although your bowel movements may not return fully to normal for another month or so.
